During the summer of 1961, Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's storied single season home run record by hitting, his 61st home run on the last day of the season, the Yankees defeated the Reds 4 games to 1 in the Fall Classic, Sherluck won the Belmont disrupting Carry Back's attempt at horse racing's Triple Crown, The Curse of the Werewolf opened at Atlantic City's Surf Theater, Del Shannon's Runaway was the number one song in America, and I was graduated from St. Michael's Grammar School in Atlantic City by the Selestian Sisters of John Bosco. St. Michael's, the school, closed its doors in the spring of 1988; the Church remained open until 2015 after better than 100 years of service to that Italian neighborhood known as DuckTown.
